The silicone knob is a special silicone control accessory for the operation panels of various medical devices, exclusively designed for functional knobs of medical instruments such as those for adjustment, switching and speed regulation. It is compound-molded from medical-grade silicone rubber and a rigid substrate, integrating the skin-friendly, anti-slip, shock-absorbing, noise-reducing, insulating and disinfection-resistant properties of silicone with the advantages of the substrate in stable shaping and precise transmission. Adapted to the operational needs of medical devices including monitors, physiotherapy instruments, clinical analyzers, infusion pumps and surgical equipment, it complies with medical hygiene and equipment precision control standards, and is a core matching part to ensure the operational accuracy, comfort and durability of medical devices. Core Material & Composite Properties It is compound-molded from medical-grade silicone rubber (outer layer) + ABS/PC/Nylon (inner core substrate). The silicone layer complies with medical biocompatibility standards including ISO 9001 and FDA, being plasticizer-free, odorless and free of harmful substance leaching. The inner core substrate meets the requirements of equipment mechanical transmission and structural shaping. Its core properties are tailored to the usage scenarios of medical devices:
The outer silicone layer features a soft design with a Shore hardness of 30°~45°, and its surface is processed with anti-slip textures (grid/raised dot/stripe). No slipping occurs when medical staff operate with medical gloves on, and it is skin-friendly with no uncomfortable hard contact for bare-hand operation. The knob has moderate damping during rotation/pressing with no looseness or jamming, enabling precise parameter adjustment and reducing operational errors.
Medical silicone rubber is a high-quality electrical insulator, effectively isolating weak electric current on the device panel and preventing accidental electric conduction during operation. There is no hard contact between the silicone layer and the metal panel to avoid static electricity generation, making it suitable for medical devices with electrical control and precision sensing.
Withstands conventional medical disinfection methods (75% alcohol wiping, iodophor disinfection, ultraviolet disinfection). The silicone remains undeformed, unaged and non-sticky after repeated disinfection with no disinfectant residue; the smooth, pore-free surface allows for easy removal of dust and medicinal liquid stains with a single wipe, meeting the high hygiene requirements of hospital clinics and operating rooms.
The damping properties of silicone can absorb mechanical vibrations during knob rotation/pressing and eliminate abnormal collision noise between plastic and metal, making it suitable for quiet-demand scenarios such as wards, monitoring rooms and operating rooms.
The silicone layer has an operating temperature range of -60℃~200℃, withstanding the constant temperature environment of hospitals, equipment working temperature rise and disinfection low temperature, without yellowing, cracking or falling off after long-term use; the inner core substrate is high-temperature resistant and anti-aging, ensuring the overall structural stability of the knob with no deformation or loosening.
The silicone layer is treated with a wear-resistant coating, resistant to scratching and repeated rotational friction, with no texture wear or silicone layer falling off even after high-frequency long-term operation (≥100,000 rotations); the composite structure is tightly bonded with no risk of debonding or delamination, adapting to the long-term continuous working needs of medical devices.
