Medical Device Silicone Accessory - Long Silicone Strip
The medical device long silicone strip is a standardized and customizable silicone strip accessory for medical equipment matching, integrally molded by compression/extrusion from medical-grade methyl vinyl silicone rubber. It is adapted to the core needs of sealing, anti-collision, protection, filling and isolation of various medical devices, and can be classified into sealed long strips, anti-collision long strips, protective long strips, filling long strips and other categories by function. It integrates the core properties of medical silicone rubber such as disinfection resistance, biocompatibility, high elasticity and flex resistance, wear and aging resistance, complying with medical standards including ISO9001 and FDA. It is a commonly used basic matching accessory for the whole machine of medical devices such as monitors, physiotherapy instruments, clinical analyzers, infusion pumps and endoscopic equipment.
Core Material Properties
The entire product is made of medical-grade platinum-cured silicone rubber (standard version)/fluorosilicone rubber (special corrosion scenarios), free of plasticizers, halogens and harmful leachables. Low-molecular volatiles are removed through secondary vulcanization. Its core properties are tailored to the needs of clinical use, high-frequency disinfection and long-term operation and maintenance of medical devices, and all properties meet the testing standards for medical accessories:
Medical-grade Biocompatibility
Passes core tests including cytotoxicity, skin irritation, delayed hypersensitivity and hemolysis rate; mucosal contact versions add mucosal irritation tests. It is non-sensitizing and non-irritating, with no safety risks in indirect/direct contact with human skin/mucosa and medical media.
Resistant to High-Frequency Medical Disinfection
Withstands mainstream disinfection methods such as 75% alcohol wiping, iodophor disinfection, 121℃ high-temperature autoclaving, ethylene oxide sterilization and ultraviolet disinfection. It remains unaged, non-sticky and crack-free after repeated disinfection (≥500 times), with no attenuation in elasticity and appearance.
High Elasticity & Flex Resistance, Excellent Moldability
Shore hardness of 30°~60° can be adjusted on demand, with a permanent compression set of ≤5% and a bending resistance of ≥2 million times. Extruded/compression-molded long strips have no splicing gaps, and can adapt to the bending and installation needs of narrow spaces and irregular fitting surfaces of equipment.
Temperature & Medium Resistance, Stable Performance
The operating temperature range is -60℃~200℃, without embrittlement at low temperatures and softening at high temperatures. It resists immersion in medical media such as normal saline, medical liquids, weak acid and weak alkali cleaning solutions, and disinfectants, without swelling, degradation or discoloration.
Wear & Aging Resistance, Long Service Life
The smooth and pore-free surface resists daily friction and scratch, without chipping or chalking. It does not yellow or harden during long-term use in the constant temperature and humid hospital environment, adapting to the whole machine service cycle of more than 5 years for medical devices.
Insulating & Noise-Reducing, Adapted to Medical Scenarios
It has high-quality electrical insulation with a volume resistivity of ≥10¹⁴Ω·cm, avoiding short circuits of metal parts of equipment; its damping properties can eliminate abnormal collision noise during equipment operation and contact, adapting to quiet environments such as wards, monitoring rooms and operating rooms.
Easy to Install, Adapted to Multiple Substrates
It can be directly attached, fixed with card slots or pasted with adhesive backing, and closely fits with the housing substrates of medical devices such as metal, ABS, PC and acrylic. The adhesive backing version uses medical residue-free adhesive, with no adhesive residue after disassembly and no damage to the equipment surface.
