Medical Device Silicone Accessory - Medical-Grade Silicone Wiring Harness
The medical-grade silicone wiring harness is a special silicone wiring assembly for signal and power transmission inside and outside medical devices. With medical-grade silicone rubber insulation/sheath as the core, it is made of tinned copper/oxygen-free copper conductors, medical-grade shielding layers and connectors. Exclusively designed for the sterile, disinfection-resistant, anti-aging, flexible and kink-resistant scenarios of medical devices, it is adapted to the wiring needs of various medical devices including monitors, physiotherapy instruments, surgical equipment, rehabilitation devices and clinical analyzers. Complying with medical biocompatibility and electrical safety standards, it is a core matching part to ensure the stable circuit transmission and safe use of medical devices. Core Material & Overall Properties All components of the wiring harness follow medical-grade material selection standards. The silicone rubber insulation/sheath complies with medical specifications including ISO 9001 and FDA, being plasticizer-free, halogen-free and free of harmful substance leaching. Conductors and auxiliary materials meet the electrical transmission requirements of medical devices. Its overall properties are tailored to the full-scenario needs of hospital diagnosis, disinfection and long-term use:
The insulation/outer sheath is made of 40°~60° Shore medical-grade silicone rubber, withstanding mainstream medical disinfection methods such as 75% alcohol wiping, iodophor disinfection, ethylene oxide sterilization, 121℃ high-temperature autoclaving and ultraviolet disinfection. It remains unaged, non-sticky and crack-free after repeated disinfection, with no leachables to contaminate equipment and clinical environments, adapting to the high hygiene requirements of operating rooms and clinics.
The silicone rubber material features excellent flexibility. The wiring harness remains soft in an ultra-wide temperature range of -60℃~200℃, with a bending resistance of ≥2 million times without the risk of core wire breakage or sheath cracking. It is adapted to the wiring in narrow internal spaces of medical devices and repeated bending of external handheld operation ends (e.g., physiotherapy instrument probe connecting wires, surgical equipment operation handle wiring harnesses).
The conductor adopts high-purity oxygen-free copper/tinned copper stranded core wires with high conductivity and low resistance, ensuring efficient power/signal transmission. Customizable medical-grade tinned copper mesh/aluminum foil shielding layers with a shielding rate of ≥95% are available, effectively resisting electromagnetic interference in hospital environments (e.g., electromagnetic signals from nuclear magnetic resonance and high-frequency electrosurgical units), avoiding signal distortion and device misoperation.
The silicone rubber sheath is resistant to ultraviolet rays, ozone and moisture corrosion, without yellowing, hardening or chalking during long-term use in the constant temperature and humid hospital environment; it resists immersion in conventional medical media (normal saline, medicinal liquids, disinfectants) without swelling or degradation. The overall service life of the wiring harness is much longer than that of ordinary PVC wiring harnesses, adapting to the long-term continuous working needs of medical devices.
The silicone rubber sheath of external wiring harnesses in direct/indirect contact with the human body (e.g., physiotherapy instrument probe wires, rehabilitation device connecting wires) has passed medical skin contact safety tests, with no irritation or sensitization. Even with long-term contact with patients' skin and medical staff's hands, there is no potential safety hazard, complying with the contact safety standards for medical accessories.
Medical silicone rubber has excellent insulating performance with a volume resistivity of ≥10¹⁴Ω·cm and a breakdown voltage of ≥20kV/mm, effectively preventing short circuits and electric leakage; it also meets the UL94 V-0 flame retardant standard, self-extinguishing when exposed to open fire with no toxic smoke generated, avoiding fire risks caused by electrical faults and adapting to the high safety requirements of medical devices.
The entire harness contains no halogens, lead, cadmium or other heavy metals, complying with RoHS and REACH medical environmental protection standards. Even in the case of high-temperature aging or combustion, only a small amount of non-toxic smoke is generated, reducing pollution to the hospital clinical environment and protecting the health of medical staff and patients
